Supervision details
Supervision is a fundamental space for counsellors and psychotherapists to support and develop their professional learning and understanding. It provides a place of learning for both supervisee and supervisor creating understanding, increased awareness and openness. We seek to uncover unconscious processes within the work and is a forum for exploring ethical and practical dilemmas. I have 15 years of experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist which I bring to this collaborative process, supporting supervisees in their developmental journey.
Therapists and clients are unique and supervision is a subjective, nurturing and nourishing process seeking to enlighten and empower in a cascading fashion through supervisor to supervisee to client. I believe that in embodying the concepts of potency, protection and permission I will create a space of authenticity and integrity, modelling this for my supervisee.
My style is about integrating the Seven-eyed model with my foundations in Transactional Analysis (TA) and I am currently in training with CSTD in Bath. The Seven-eyed model provides a comprehensive framework for the content and process of supervision. The purpose of which, is to provide a space of accountability and responsibility for our work creating a check and balance for the safety of clients.
Fees: I charge £50 per hour session whilst I am in training. Supervisee’s will be expected to pay either in the session or by BACS transfer on the day of the session. If they regularly fail to pay on time, I reserve the right to cancel the contract. Fees are reviewed annually, and I will give them four weeks’ notice in advance if I am increasing them.
Where: I work from an office within my home in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire for face to face sessions and offer online supervision via Zoom as well.
When: If supervisees are in training the frequency of the sessions will be in line with their training requirements but will usually be held once a fortnight for 45 minutes. For other supervisees sessions will be held as agreed, usually on a monthly basis. The structure of the session will be contracted on the day around the supervisee’s needs.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
