Supervision details
I qualified as a counsellor in 2012, working in the business sector, several charities and in private practice. I also teach on counselling programmes. I successfully completed CPCAB level 6 counselling supervision course in June 2024. I am accredited with NCPS.
I work in partnership with my Supervisees. I am an integrative supervisor adapting my approach to meet Supervisee needs, working to their agenda.
I facilitate Supervisee self-review, practice development and delivery of best practice for their clients. Central to this is protecting both the Supervisee and their clients. Supervisees will be invited to engage in meaningful and enjoyable discussions. I do not expect my Supervisees to agree with me; I want them to be open and honest in all aspects of our work together. That requires the Supervisee to feel completely at ease with me in supervision.
My approach is holistic, checking in on the Supervisee’s well-being as counselling work is challenging. We meet monthly to fulfil the professional requirement for supervision hours. I recommend that my Supervisees contact me for guidance between sessions if needed at no extra cost.
I will provide career development advice as part of your supervision package.
We will work from your current level of competence, as assessed by you. This is a starting point, the aim is to enable you to develop the knowledge and skills needed to advance your practice towards expert practitioner level over time. I may challenge you and make suggestions, but you make all the decisions. Our work will reflect a commitment to ethical practice. I model my Supervision on the three excellent supervisors who helped me do the best for my clients.
Student Counsellor Supervision
As a lecturer on counselling courses (CPCAB and University of Ulster), I understand what students need to achieve on placements.

The next step - phone 07581031915, text or jemcbt@gmail.com, and I will get back to you asap. I will offer you a preliminary online or face-to-face session (both free). I will be happy to answer further questions at any stage of this process. I look forward to hearing from you.
