Supervision details
I am an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist offering supervision to clinicians working with adults. I have many years' experience in clinical practice and I have supervised clinicians at different stages of their professional development.
My approach to supervision is psychoanalytic, with close attention to unconscious phantasy, anxiety, defence, projective identification, and the dynamics of transference and countertransference as they emerge in the clinical material and in the supervisory relationship. I am particularly interested in how early object relations shape the patient's internal world, and the pressures placed on the clinician in the psychotherapeutic relationship.
I understand supervision as a space for careful and disciplined psychoanalytic thinking, rather than reassurance and technique alone. I aim to offer a reliable and containing frame in which clinical difficulties, uncertainties and emotional impact can be thought about in depth, supporting the development of your psychotherapeutic capacity and ethical practice.
I welcome enquiries from trainees and qualified practitioners of all modalities who are seeking supervision from a psychoanalytic framework. Supervision is available on an individual or group basis, online or in person depending on location.
Please feel free to make contact with me for an initial conversation to see whether my way of working might be a good fit for your needs.

Member of The British Association of Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision (BAPPS)
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
