Supervision details
A warm welcome to my supervision profile I am a qualified supervisor having undertaken training at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy . I work using the seven -Eyed supervision model developed by Peter developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. I believe in providing a supportive yet challenging way of working and place empasis on the relational aspect of supervision between myself and the supervisee.
I see my aim as twofold; to support you to bring yourself as fully as possible to the therapeutic relationship so that you can use your skills and experience in service of your client’s wellbeing, and to facilitate your growth as a professional and as a person.I believe that the key to this is creating an environment where you can share experiences, reflect on your choices, and develop your understanding of yourself, your practice, theory and research, and how these interconnect for you and inform your own professional philosophy.
I supervise using and Integrative model with a Person centred base. I offer supervision for counsellors and therapist working with both children and adults and I have a wealth of experience working in a variety if settings including Education, Children's homes and a Mental Health and Well being centre. I work from a quiet space within my home and I am based in walkden manchester which has good transport links by train and bus from Manchester ,salford and Bolton. I charge £ 50 per hour /£65 per 1.5 hours. Reduced rate may be available for students.
Please feel free to contact me for a chat and to arramge an initial meeting to discuss your supervision needs. Kate
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
