Supervision details
I offer CBT and EMDR supervision to qualified therapists, as well as practitioners developing their skills or working towards accreditation. I hold a postgraduate certificate in clinical supervision and am an EMDR Europe-accredited Consultant, with more than 20 years’ experience in mental health across NHS and private practice settings.
My supervision style is collaborative, reflective and practical. I aim to provide a supportive space in which therapists can discuss complex clinical work, uncertainty and difficulties openly, without feeling judged. I will also offer constructive challenge and encourage different perspectives where this may help develop your practice.
Supervision can include case formulation and conceptualisation, treatment planning, risk, the therapeutic relationship, ethical issues, protocol adaptations and working with cases that feel stuck. I also encourage attention to the therapist’s own responses and development.
For EMDR practitioners, supervision may include client readiness, stabilisation, target selection and sequencing, use of the standard protocol and appropriate adaptations. CBT supervision can include formulation, intervention planning, maintaining a collaborative focus and applying evidence-based approaches flexibly.
Individual supervision is available online across the UK and in person in Norwich.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
