Supervision details
I believe good supervision should feel safe, collaborative and appropriately challenging- a space where you can think openly about your work, explore what may be happening within the therapeutic relationship, celebrate what is going well and bring the things that feel difficult, uncertain or stuck.
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and qualified supervisor, working with both qualified and trainee counsellors. My approach to supervision is relational and reflective, drawing particularly on the Seven-Eyed Model to explore the client, therapist, therapeutic relationship and wider systems around the work.
How I work
I don't see supervision simply as case management or a place to check that you are doing things 'right'. I want it to be somewhere you can bring your whole self as a practitioner.
We can explore client work, therapeutic relationships, ethical dilemmas, boundaries, safeguarding, risk, your own responses to clients, professional development and the impact that the work may be having on you.
My own practice is broad and integrative, and I work with adults, couples and young people across a wide range of presenting issues. This enables me to offer supervision across varied client work, while recognising the importance of working within our individual competence and seeking specialist support where appropriate.
Supervision for trainee counsellors
I enjoy supporting counsellors as they develop their own identity and confidence as practitioners.
For trainees, supervision can include exploring client work alongside developing therapeutic skills, making sense of theory in practice, ethical decision-making, boundaries, placement issues and reflecting on your development as a counsellor.
I can work with the supervision requirements of your training provider and can offer fortnightly sessions where required.

Qualified counsellors: £100 for 90 minutes
Trainee counsellors: please contact me to discuss your course requirements and frequency of supervision.
Supervision is available face-to-face in Wellington, Somerset, or online throughout the UK.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
