Supervision details
I am an active Clinical Supervisor (with qualification from the British Psychology Society's training, which grants registration eligibility as a Supervisor of Applied Psychological Practice). I support Allied Health Professionals, Counsellors, Practitioner Psychologists and Psychotherapists to grow and think about their patients at depth. My understanding is theoretically Pluralistic, however my supervision centrally draws upon 'Object Relations' and 'Contemporary Relational' schools of psychoanalytic thought. We can agree together about the structure of sessions, so I can support you to continue to grow and develop in your work. I am open to supervising trainees, and I have existing relationships with local training providers.
My own clinical work is supervised by colleagues who were trained at the Severnside Institute of Psychotherapy, which is a psychoanalytic training provider. I continue to engage in CPD via the Institute, with the intention of undertaking their British Psychoanalytic Council accredited Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy intensive training in the future.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
