Supervisor

Supervision details

I'm a BACP accredited counsellor, member of BICA aswell as a qualified supervisor. I support a range of helping professionals, including counsellors, psychotherapists aswell as student/volunteer counsellors. I offer individual and group supervision, providing a reflective space to explore your client work, professional challenges, and personal development.

My supervision offers a space to explore client work, to look at the use of interventions, talk through any concerns, frustrations and feelings of stuckness (amongst other things). My intention for supervision is to support my supervisees so they can support their clients. My aim is never to be punishing or shaming but to be curious, neuro-affirming and to offer opportunities for insight and to promote autonomy in the supervisees I work with.

I integrate primarily two models -  the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision and the Functions model. As I work online, I also include the CLEAR model in my online practice. The BACP Ethical Framework and the BACP Supervision Competence Framework both inform my work as a supervisor.

I can offer support with BACP accreditation if that would be useful.

I offer an initial 40 minute consultation session on Zoom or on the telephone. I work face-to-face in Chelmsford, Essex or online. Prices vary for group supervision depending on the number of supervisees. Please contact me to discuss your supervision needs.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
