About me
Hi, I appreciate the opportunity to share more about my approach and how I can support you.
Taking the step to seek counselling can feel significant, especially if you are used to managing things on your own. You may be experiencing a heightened sense of anxiety, self-doubt, or low self-esteem following unexpected or unwelcome changes — perhaps a new work situation, the breakdown of a long-term relationship, or the loss of someone close to you. You might also feel overwhelmed by increasing demands on your time, or as though your needs are not being heard. These experiences can trigger unhelpful thought patterns, often rooted in earlier life experiences, leaving everything feeling heavy and difficult to manage.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can slow things down and feel truly heard. My approach is grounded in Person-Centred therapy, meaning our sessions are led by you, at your pace, within a relationship built on empathy, trust, and respect. I work Integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to help you make sense of your experiences and understand why certain patterns or feelings may be showing up for you now.
I am naturally curious and ask open questions to help you explore both your present experiences and past ones, gaining an understanding into how these may be influencing you self-beliefs, relationships, or emotional wellbeing today.
I have experience working with a wide range of presenting issues, including:
· anxiety and depression
. self doubt and the inner critic
· living with past or present trauma
· difficult personal or family relationships
· navigating unexpected or enforced change
· teenagers adjusting to adulthood
Alongside my counselling work, I am also a qualified Life Coach. So if it feels right you can also to look to the future — working on goals and aspirations that can support positive and meaningful change in your life.
I have a private Practice in central Newbury where I work face to face with both adults and young people. I provide immediate short-term support or we can use longer-term work to explore complex issues in more depth so you can bring about lasting change.
So if you’re feeling tired of putting on a brave face and would like support towards positive change, contact me for a free, no-obligation 30-minute Discovery Session to see whether working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
In 2023 I qualified with a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling. This was followed by a Level 7 Post Graduate Course in Life Coaching. This has enabled me to broaden my client offer allowing us to look at the past, present but also to the future with a focus on positive change. I have recently completed a Certificate in Applied Transactional Analysis. I have also attended short courses focusing on areas such as Positive Pyschology, ADHD, Transactional Analysis, Addiction and Trauma.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists
I qualified as a Counsellor and Coach following a long career in Hospitality. It was a highly pressurised, dynamic work environment and provided me with invaluable life experience in the real world with all it's ups and downs. I believe this now compliments and enhances my work with Clients.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
