About me

Hi, I appreciate the opportunity to share more about my approach and how I can support you.

You may be experiencing anxious thoughts, low self-esteem or a feeling of being overwhelmed.

Whatever the issue I will offer you the opportunity to talk in a confidential and safe space without judgement. You can move at a pace you feel comfortable with so you have the time to explore what’s happening and why?  Above all I will be your ally and walk alongside you as you talk through your challenges, begin to experience a stronger sense of self awareness and discover a better way forward that is right for you.

As a qualified Counsellor I take an Integrated approach, which means I draw on various theories and therapeutic models that will help you make sense of the issues you bring to our sessions, both past and present and how they might be connected. I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues including -

  • Living with past and present trauma
  • Challenges with personal and family relationships
  • Experiencing unexpected or unwelcome change
  • Addictive thinking and behaviour
  • Neuro-diversity in a neurotypical world

I am also an EMCC Qualified Life Coach, so if it feels right you can also bridge the past and present with the future and with your increased self awareness begin to make positive changes in your life.

I have my own Private Practice in central Newbury where I work face to face with both adults and young people. I provide immediate short-term support or we can use longer-term work to explore complex issues in more depth so you can bring about lasting change. And I do not require a minimum of number of sessions, we can just take it one step at a time.

So if you’re tired of putting on a brave face and feel ready to talk, then contact me for a free, no-obligation 30-minute chat to find out more about how I can support you.

As well as my own private practice in central Newbury I also provide support for young people and adults at a local Charitable Practice in Newbury.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
