About me

I am a UK-based counsellor with long clinical experience across the UK and USA, offering a warm, steady, and practical space for change.
I work with adults, couples, and young people from age 8 upwards.

As a therapist, my approach blends depth work with evidence-based methods. Alongside my established counselling and hypnotherapy practice, I am also undertaking formal training in EMDR therapy (EMDR UK-approved pathway). This means I am currently able to offer EMDR sessions under accredited supervision, following all ethical and professional guidelines.

Counselling
Counselling can help untangle patterns that keep you stuck and open up new ways of responding to challenges. My practice supports a wide range of emotional and relational issues, helping you build confidence, clarity and resilience.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is solution-focused and typically works within a 50-minute session structure. Alongside addressing the issue you bring, I help you develop self-hypnosis skills so that the progress made in sessions becomes something you can continue building on independently.
It can be useful for anxiety, stress, phobias, low mood, habits, and some mind–body conditions.

Experience
I am a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist with many years of clinical experience. My background spans private practice, community settings, and work in both the UK and USA. I have worked with clients from a wide range of ages and backgrounds.

I am co-author of Hypnotherapy for Dummies and Self Hypnosis for Dummies (Wiley), and continue to stay engaged in ongoing professional development, including my EMDR training and supervised EMDR practice.

Professional Memberships:

- MBACP (Accred.) member: 00541166
- Working towards EMDR practitioner status under EMDR-accredited supervision (Completing Part 4 - April 2026)

Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential and offered within clear ethical frameworks so you can explore sensitive material safely.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Practitioner Diploma in Hypnosis from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis.
I am also a qualified and experienced counsellor with over 20 years experience in the UK and the USA.

My clients come from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups.

I am a member of both the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the British Association of Counselling.
I am bound by both organisations’ Code of Ethics.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
