About me
Loss can change every part of our lives, and often we can find ourselves looking at a life that we hadn't envisioned living, and not knowing where to turn next.
I specialise in supporting loss, bereavement and grief and have recently completed specialist training with Sands (baby loss charity). Loss can take many different forms, the end of a relationship or marriage, financial or career changes like redundancy, the loss of your health or the passing of a family member or beloved pet. Whatever the nature of your loss, your feelings are valid and deserving of space and understanding.
I understand that grief is deeply personal and can affect every part of our lives, emotionally, physically, and relationally. Whether your loss is recent or long past, expected or sudden, visible or complicated, I offer a compassionate space where your experience can be explored safely and at your own pace.
I'm an Integrative Counsellor with many years of therapeutic experience, offering long or short-term counselling.
I provide a confidential, non-judgemental environment built on empathy, respect and genuine understanding. The therapeutic relationship is central to my work, allowing you to feel heard and supported as you make sense of your world and begin to find your own way forward.
My Approach is person-centred and pluralistic. This means I believe there is no single 'right' way to do therapy or process grief and what is going on for you. We will work collaboratively to understand what you need and what feels most supportive for you. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, adapting our work to suit your individual experiences, coping style and goals.
Alongside loss, grief and bereavement, I have had extensive experience supporting women and couples to navigate their fertility and birthing journeys, where loss can often be complex and multifaceted.
I currently volunteer for a Charity working with people who have experienced Domestic Violence/Abuse and I also work to support clients experiencing stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, low self-worth/esteem, integrating talking therapies with Hypnotherapy, EFT and NLP if necessary too.
I am fully insured and committed to ongoing professional development, strengthening my collaborative and flexible way of working, alongside regular supervision. My practice is grounded by the ethical standards of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), honouring professional integrity and deep respect for each client's autonomy and lived experience.

In todays busy modern world, some of us need compassionate flexible sessions that fit in with our lives at different stages of our journeys. Therefore I can offer a variation of sessions depending on how much time you need in the therapy space, to review, reflect and process.
£30 for 30mins - A shorter session for times when you may be busy with life, or as quick support when you need it.
£50 for 50mins - The traditional therapeutic hour, ideal for standard generic sessions.
£60 for 60mins -Similar to a standard session, but sometimes those extra 10 minutes make the difference.

Testimonials
"Firstly, let me say that I feel so lucky and privileged to have met Michelle. Her style, approach and kind heartedness truly supported me through one of the most painful and difficult times of my life. Her ability to understand people, how they think, and adapt her approach to support is a truly wonderful skill" T.T
"I first met Michelle back in 2011 when we took fertility and then birthing sessions with her, so to re-connect for Counselling years later felt natural as I already trusted her. Through working together this time I have come to recognise that I can't change the reality of my situation, but I can change how I adapt and react. She has enabled me to recognise my best efforts and the importance of self-care which has had such a positive impact on our family life. My mental state was impacting the family dynamics but just simply having Michelle to listen to me and validate my experience whilst I worked out how best to navigate my life has made such a positive impact, I'm truly grateful." S.M
"Michelle has been a steady source of strength through three major challenges in my life. She supported me with compassion and patience as I navigated the loss of my father, helping me find acceptance in my grief. She helped me with guidance when I was recovering from an incredible medical challenge during Covid and more recently, she has helped guide me through the uncertainty of redundancy, offering reassurance and helping me regain confidence. Her kindness and support have made a profound difference, and I'm truly grateful." N.C
