Wanted: 3 people who carry their stress in their body – TRE®
Wanted: 3 people who carry their stress in their bodies
If you hold tension in your shoulders, grind your jaw, lie awake wired at night, or feel like your body never quite switches off – this is for you.
I am completing my internationally recognised certification as a TRE® provider, and I am offering a full course of practice sessions, free of charge, to three volunteers.
What is TRE®?
TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a body-based method developed by Dr David Berceli, now taught in over 40 countries. It works with the body's innate neurogenic tremor response – a natural mechanism for discharging muscular tension and downregulating the nervous system after stress. This response is well documented in mammals; in humans, it tends to be suppressed through social conditioning, leaving chronic tension held in the musculature, particularly in the psoas, hips, shoulders, and jaw.
TRE uses a short sequence of simple physical exercises to safely activate this tremor response in a controlled, self-regulated way. Once activated, the release process is involuntary – the body completes it without conscious effort or technique. It requires no talking and no recounting of history, and participants commonly describe improved sleep, reduced muscular tension, and feeling calmer and more grounded. Once learned, TRE can become a lifelong self-regulation tool you can use independently.
The practical details
- 5 guided sessions of 60 minutes each – online/in-person at 10 Harley Street, Central London
- you will be taught how to pace and regulate the process yourself, so it always stays within your comfort zone
- free of charge – these sessions are completed under the supervision of experienced TRE® professionals as part of my formal certification
- a short screening questionnaire first, as TRE has some contraindications and is not suitable for everyone
