Conflict shows up everywhere - at work, at home, in the small disagreements we brush past and the bigger ones we avoid entirely. This free, practical session looks at how conflict typically develops between people, why it escalates the way it does, and - most usefully - what can help, once you understand how conflict functions.

You'll learn two simple, practical tools: how to separate what someone's arguing for from what they actually need, and how to respond to conflict rather than react to it. No prior experience needed, and there's no obligation to take part (cameras and microphones off, welcomed).

Led by William Heseltine, a CMC workplace, civil and commercial mediator and conflict coach, and co-founder of Yorway - a North Yorkshire-based conflict management and CBT practice.

This is part of Yorway's free workshop series, alongside sessions on stress, anxious thoughts, and mindfulness.

What to expect: a mix of explanation, a short reflective exercise, and time for questions. Camera and microphone are optional throughout - join in whatever way feels comfortable.
