Self-discovery through creative arts: Samhain
Welcome
As we transition into the darker months, I invite you into a nourishing day of insight, creativity and community. An opportunity to honour ourselves as beings of this world, to re-member ourselves as part of nature, not as something other.
In our modern world it is all too easy to exist outside of nature’s rhythms; society often dictates we carry on regardless of seasonal change. For this day, you are invited to drop into an intentional space aligning with the natural energies around us.
In Celtic language, Samhain translates as Summer’s End. Traditionally, October 31st marked the end of one year and November 1st the beginning of the next. When we pause to notice the world around us, this makes profound sense. The year in nature is coming to a close; harvests are gathered, plants prepare for rest, and animals make ready for wintering.
Throughout the day we will hold a gentle pace, with regular opportunity to reflect and pause. Consider this gathering to be a warming gift, to witness and to be seen. We will combine meditations, folklore, poems and creative arts, within community and personal process.
Please note that the event is being held on the 8th November to give space for those of you who still celebrate October 31st.
More information about the day will be available nearer the time.
I look forward to meeting you in November.
Warmly,
Sam
