Are you interested in helping clients with trauma? Do you sometimes worry about getting it wrong, re-traumatising someone, or feel unsure whether you have enough experience or confidence to work safely with trauma presentations?

For many therapists, trauma work can feel daunting. We want to help, but we also understand how vulnerable traumatised clients can be and how important it is to work carefully, ethically and safely.

For over four years, I lived with the daily impact of complex PTSD following a series of highly traumatic experiences. Despite having extensive traditional therapy and learning coping strategies, I still felt trapped in survival mode. I experienced flashbacks, dissociation, nightmares and frequent triggers from ordinary everyday things such as conversations, television or unexpected reminders.

Everything changed when I attended Rewind Trauma Therapy training with Dr David Muss.

During the training, David asked for a volunteer for a live demonstration in front of a large auditorium full of therapists. Before I had really processed what I was doing, my hand went up, and I found myself walking onto the stage. That session changed my life.

Within days, I noticed the PTSD responses I had lived with for years were no longer happening in the same way. I found myself waiting for the familiar reactions, but my brain and body simply were not responding as they had before. That was in 2019, and those symptoms have never returned in the way they once dominated my life.

That experience had a profound impact on me personally and professionally. Since then, I have gone on to deliver more than 450 Rewind sessions with clients and became an accredited trainer with the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT).

One of the things many therapists value about Rewind is that it does not require clients to repeatedly relive or disclose traumatic details unless they choose to. This “closure without disclosure” approach can help clients feel safer and more contained during the work, while also reducing the fear many therapists understandably have around overwhelming or re-traumatising clients.

Rewind is an evidence-informed approach that has helped many people experiencing PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. In a survey of over 6,000 clients treated by IARTT practitioners, 95% experienced significant improvement within three sessions or fewer.

The training is practical, supportive and designed to help you feel confident integrating Rewind into your existing therapeutic work.

The training includes:

  • a live demonstration of the rewind technique
  • opportunities to practise as both practitioner and client
  • clear, easy-to-follow guidance and scripts
  • access to peer support through a private Facebook group
  • inclusion on the register of rewind practitioners following completion and case study submission
  • a certificate of completion
  • guidance on integrating rewind safely and ethically into your practice

I know first-hand how life-changing this work can be, both personally and professionally. If you feel drawn to trauma work but want a structured, evidence-informed approach that can help clients process traumatic experiences safely and effectively, I would love the opportunity to train you.
