Professional development days

The professional development days will provide an opportunity to focus on various aspects of TA psychotherapy, including client work, developing and deepening clinical practice, live relational supervision, teaching on subjects of your choice, developing academic or writing skills, and an exploration of aspects of TA or relational theory. For example, a consideration of special areas of interest, such as developmental trauma, complex grief, chronic shame, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, dream analysis, couples work, or eating, shape and weight.

When and where will the professional development days run?

The professional development days will run face-to-face at the lovely Connexus Institute premises in Hove on the following Fridays during the academic year:

What will the professional development days involve?

A group environment provides many opportunities for learning. Learning from your own work, learning from the clinical presentations of others and learning from the group process itself. Delivered by Mandy Atkinson, using a relational approach, there is an opportunity to experience working relationally.

Who will run the events?

The professional development days will be run by Mandy Atkinson and follow an approach that is similar to that she has used in other professional development groups. They will be bespoke and developed with the specific requirements of the people in the group in mind. The content for each day and the agenda will be explored and discussed by the group and an agenda agreed upon for each day, combining a mixture of teaching, experiential work, live supervision and group discussion.

Mandy Atkinson enjoys working as a psychotherapist, supervisor, teacher and trainer. She runs a psychotherapy and clinical supervision practice in South Walsham near Norwich in Norfolk, where she sees individuals, couples and groups for short and long-term psychotherapy. In addition to her general practice, she has a special interest in working with shame, eating disorders, disordered eating, and body and weight-related issues. She is passionate about psychotherapy, education and learning

How much do the professional development days cost?

Each of the professional development days count as 6 hrs CPD and cost £90 per day. There is an opportunity to attend any of the days, throughout the academic year. There are 6 in total or you can attend an individual day, a number of days all all PD days.
