A humble attempt at educating on humanness, relationships, and how it all works, building emotional literacy and safety from the ground up.

Across eight weeks, we explore the forces that shape how people connect: attraction and attachment, trust and boundaries, safeguarding, self-worth, power, vulnerability and repair. Our conversation moves between psychotherapy, science, lived experience and the strange, beautiful patterns we notice in everyday life.

We are especially interested in the relationship between human behaviour and the natural world. The way particles interact, respond to forces, form bonds and change under pressure offers us a playful way to think about what happens between people. It is not a claim that humans are particles, but an invitation to look more closely at connection: what draws us together, what keeps us apart, and what happens when the conditions change.

We believe humanness is clever – properly, delightfully clever – just as it is. So we geek out on it. We share what we know, think out loud, question, notice, listen and follow ideas wherever they lead. We are curious about language, meaning and the deeper patterns beneath what people say and do. We play with possibilities, try and fail, and try again.

This is not a polished performance or a set of perfect answers. It is an honest, brave and sometimes wonderfully weird conversation about being human with other humans. Our hope is that it will make you more curious about your own relationships – and as excited about the astonishing intelligence of humanness as we are.

"To my five children. Be brave, push through it, communicate better, and know when something isn't OK."

Series goals

01 Explain – Make sense of emotions, nervous system responses, and relationship patterns in plain language.

02 Build emotional literacy – Acquiring the words, frameworks, and self-awareness to understand what we feel and why.

03 Teach safeguarding – Using our “noticing brain” in accessing our implicit experiences, to build self-rapport, and to inform healthy boundaries.

The episodes

8 Discussions, 8 Dates, 8 pm UK Time.

14/10: Attraction and attachment

Why do we repeat the pattern

That "spark" people talk about? It's often familiarity. This episode explores why our attractions aren't random, and why being "bad at choosing" is usually a nervous system story, not a character flaw.

21/10: Connection

How do we make friends

What makes some connections click instantly, and how early friendship skills shape the way we bond throughout life.

28/10: Emotional regulation

Why do people suddenly change

What's happening inside when emotions seem to arrive out of nowhere and why a tiny alarm can quickly become a flood.

04/11: Conflict

What arguments are really about

Most arguments aren't about what they appear to be about. This episode decodes what conflict is really trying to do.

11/11: Communication

Why we can't talk so people listen

Why conversations so easily become games where everyone loses, and what it takes to stay present when you're triggered.

18/11: Boundaries

You're always allowed to say no

A clear no is an act of connection, not rejection. Comfort is not the same as consent.

25/11: Safeguarding

Privacy and secrecy, good secrets and bad ones

How healthy privacy differs from secrecy, and why being asked to keep secrets – especially by adults – is a signal worth paying attention to.

02/12: Self-worth

On good terms with yourself

Alignment with who you are – not who you think you should be – is where confidence grows.

Join us live each week online or enjoy the series in your own time. Our discussions will run for eight weeks on the Wednesdays listed from 8 pm and will usually finish between 9 and 9.30 pm UK time.
