Starting a private counselling practice can feel exciting, confusing and overwhelming. This full-day workshop offers an honest, practical look at what it really takes to set up, build and sustain a private practice as a counsellor.

Over 6 hours, including a lunch break, I will share my own experience of developing a private practice from the ground up: what worked, what didn’t, what I would do differently, and the practical systems that now support my work.

We will cover professional identity, choosing your niche, ethical marketing, creating a website, setting fees, managing enquiries, booking systems, client records, policies, contracts, boundaries, cancellations, finances, software, online working, and building confidence as a private practitioner.

This is not a promise of quick success or a one-size-fits-all formula. It is a grounded, experience-based workshop designed to help you understand the realities of private practice and make informed decisions for your own path.

You will leave with practical ideas, clearer next steps, a better understanding of what needs to be in place, and greater confidence about developing a practice that reflects your values, skills and preferred way of working.

Suitable for trainee counsellors, newly qualified counsellors, and practitioners considering private practice.
