Are you a qualified counsellor, newly qualified, or currently completing your Level 4 training and looking to develop your understanding of trauma?
L&M Counselling Training is welcoming enquiries for our CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Working with Trauma, beginning in January 2027.
This programme is designed for counsellors who want to develop their knowledge, confidence and clinical practice when working with interpersonal trauma.
The course explores trauma-informed therapeutic practice alongside the practical and ethical considerations of working with clients who have experienced trauma, including safeguarding, risk, boundaries and developing a sustainable counselling practice.
We take an integrative, relational and trauma-informed approach, with an emphasis on connecting theory with what happens in the counselling room.
What you can expect
- specialist learning around interpersonal trauma;
- developing your understanding of trauma responses and their impact;
- therapeutic approaches and interventions;
- working safely with risk and safeguarding;
- consideration of boundaries, ethics and professional responsibility;
- opportunities to reflect on and develop your own practice;
- supportive discussion and learning with other counselling professionals;
- consideration of developing or strengthening private practice.
January 2027 intake
- Online: Thursday evenings, 6 pm–9 pm.
- Face-to-face: Two Sundays per month in Bexleyheath, Kent.
The programme is delivered over the equivalent of 120 guided learning hours, with learning, reflection and assessment taking place throughout the programme.
The course fee is £2,500, including CPCAB registration, with payment plan options available.
