Certificate in couples counselling January 2024
Now taking bookings for January 2024 - limited number of spaces available
Specialised training in couples counselling for qualified counsellors wishing to advance their professional practice.
Course dates: 8th January - 24th June 2024.
Delivery is face-to-face for 20 weeks in Borough Green, Kent.
Term time only on Mondays: 10:00 - 14:30
90 Guided learning hours = 90 hours CPD
No requirement for couples placement as practical skills application comes from tutor-led role plays, client scenarios and group research, leading to a formally assessed couples counselling case study. But you will need to be currently working in practice with individual clients in order to compare and contrast the work.
Theoretical approach is Integrative, incorporating Psychodynamic, CBT and Person Centred. Imago Therapy will be the key model for research to inform our exploration into "unconscious models of attraction".
One assignment: "Who am I in a couple?"
Personal therapy is recommended throughout the 20-week course.
A portfolio of evidence built up from the coursework will be a requirement for receiving the certificate in couples counselling.
Additional weekend workshops are offered for CPD.
Engaging, lively learning environment: humour is encouraged!
