Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the recommended therapy of choice for a number of psychological issues. CBT focuses on the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours to bring about behavioural change.

This introductory CBT course is a fast track, self-directed way to learn CBT theory and skills. This course will help develop an understanding of your own psychology and teaches you to apply CBT to yourself and others.

This course is open to everyone, both those new to CBT and also those looking to develop their skills further. There are no prerequisite requirements. After completing this course you will be able to use the principles of CBT in your daily life and in your work or interactions with others.

In brief, the course syllabus covers:

  • Module one - theoretical underpinnings.
  • Module two - the CBT model and foundations.
  • Module three - CBT process and interventions.
  • Module four - CBT applications.
  • Module five - professional practice.

This course is studied online via our learning portal but there is also a significant practical element to the course in order that you can practice CBT tools and techniques. You will be assessed on your learning of the course material and also on your practical skills. You will also have tutor support where required.
