About me

Do you feel anxious, constantly doubt yourself, worry about your health, the future, worry that you're a bad person, or what others think of you? Therapy with me will focus on changing thought and behaviour patterns that are keeping you stuck.

Depending on your goals, we can focus on tackling negative self-esteem and self-confidence, intrusive thoughts that feel scary or shameful, worries about the future or your health, or addressing doing things that you've avoided because of fear. I generally see people making significant improvements within a few weeks of therapy, but there is never any pressure to continue if things don't feel helpful.

CBT with me uses a mixture of exposure-based and talking techniques, and will teach you to challenge your negative thoughts and create new habits when faced with anxiety or fear. Our sessions would include looking at your early experiences and how they have shaped you, whilst addressing current habits and goals relevant to your future.

The sessions are quite structured, and I will always come prepared with suggestions and plans for each session, as I find this can take the pressure off you needing to know what to say or bring. I also use questionnaires as part of therapy to understand how specific symptoms or thoughts and habits may be shifting over time.

Training, qualifications & experience

My academic background is in Neuroscience (BSc). I also have a Masters degree in Mental Health Social Work (MA) and a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip).

My CBT training was completed with King's College London. I am accredited with BABCP and Social Work England.

I have worked in NHS mental health teams since 2020, and privately as a mental health support worker before that. My experience includes work in secondary community mental health teams, perinatal mental health, and primary care talking therapies.
