About me

Hi, I’m Zoe. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the BACP, offering a warm, compassionate and confidential space for adults, children and young people.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support can be a difficult first step. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, challenges with self-esteem, or simply feeling unsure of who you are or where you are heading, you do not have to navigate this alone.

I believe that at the heart of therapy is the relationship we build together. Feeling truly heard, accepted and understood can create the safety needed to explore difficult experiences and begin to make meaningful changes. My role is not to tell you what to do or offer quick fixes, but to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy and without judgement, helping you to make sense of your experiences, develop greater self-awareness and reconnect with your own strengths.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to you as an individual. I am particularly interested in the impact of our relationships, early experiences and life events, and how these can shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Alongside my counselling practice, I bring over 15 years of experience supporting children, young people and adults within mental health, education and community settings. My background includes working with trauma, SEND, neurodiversity, emotional wellbeing, safeguarding and complex life experiences. This has strengthened my understanding that every person's story is unique and that healing often begins with feeling safe enough to be fully yourself.

Choosing a counsellor can feel like a big decision, and it is important that you find someone who feels like the right fit for you. I offer a free 15 minute introductory phone call where we can talk about what is bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and consider whether we would like to work together.

Following this, we can arrange an initial assessment session to explore your background, what support you are looking for, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

I offer both short and long-term counselling, depending on your individual needs. Sessions can take place face to face or online via Zoom.

Information for children and young people

Counselling is a space that belongs to you. It is a place where you can talk about anything that feels important, without fear of being judged or getting things wrong.

I understand that talking can sometimes feel difficult, especially when feelings are confusing or hard to put into words. Alongside conversation, I can offer creative ways of exploring emotions, including drawing, art, emotion cards and therapeutic activities.

My hope is that you feel listened to, understood and accepted for who you are. Together, we can make sense of what you are experiencing and find ways to help you feel more confident, calmer and more able to manage life's challenges.

Information for parents and carers

I offer an introductory phone call to discuss your child or young person’s needs and whether we feel I am the right person to support them.

With over 15 years of experience working with children and young people, including within mental health, SEND and educational settings, I understand the importance of building a trusting and secure relationship with your child. My aim is to provide a safe space where they feel able to express themselves, understand their emotions and develop greater confidence.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I work with adults, children and young people and bring over 15 years of experience supporting emotional wellbeing across mental health, education, youth work and community settings.

Alongside my counselling practice, I have experience providing one-to-one therapy to adults, including university students and young adults, who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, challenges with self-esteem, navigating neurodiversity, or times when life feels overwhelming and difficult to make sense of.

I have extensive experience supporting children and young people experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties, trauma, grief and loss, neurodiversity, special educational needs and other complex life experiences. I understand that every child and young person has their own unique story, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of helping them feel safe, understood and able to explore their thoughts and feelings.

Alongside my counselling work, I have spent many years working within schools and specialist educational settings, supporting children, young people and families with a wide range of emotional and mental health needs. This has given me a strong understanding of attachment, emotional development, early intervention and the lasting impact our relationships and experiences can have on the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
