About me
Hi, I'm Zoë (sher/her) and I'm a relational-existential psychotherapist.
Dealing with the ongoing unrest in the world alongside our own personal battles can often feel like too much to hold. While therapy alone cannot change the world, it is a space to share the load, to untangle yourself, and to make sense of who you are and where you're going.
I work integratively, which means I weave together relational psychodynamic therapy and existential therapy. This approach gives you the space to listen to yourself more closely, and to explore how you exist in relation to others and to the world around you. By using a 'both/and' stance, it helps to step outside of binary thinking, acknowledging that multiple things can be true at once.
I support people through a range of life experiences but particularly people who are grappling with the big questions of meaning, purpose, identity, belonging and experiences of existential anxiety.
Having an awareness of the systems and structures we live within is another important part of my practice. My approach tries to help you to see yourself not just as an individual but part of a larger collection of people, places and histories, I use a feminist and anti-oppressive framework to do this.
If you would like to get a better feel of working together, I offer a free 15-minute phone call where I can answer any questions you have about me and my practice. Alternatively, you can visit my website to learn more about my approach.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have various experience supporting adults with their mental health over the past 7 years. This has involved emotional support helplines, complex needs supported accommodation, and drug and alcohol addiction services.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a psychotherapist for an organisation providing supported accommodation to adults with chronic mental health needs. In this setting, I work mostly with adults who have experiences of psychiatric care, psychosis and complex trauma.
I am committed to anti-oppressive practice and I undertake ongoing additional learning and reading around this topic as part of my practice.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
