About me

In my practice I work with adults and young people aged 11-18 and believe that we are all unique in how we see the world and so the counselling we have should match our personal needs rather than “one size fits all”. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor I work with you or your young person to create a warm, respectful, and trusting relationship that feels safe and accepting, without judgment and holds you, my client, at its heart.

We all experience tough times in our life and our daily lives can drain us both physically and emotionally leaving us overwhelmed as we try to juggle our personal, social and work lives. I work with a wide range of emotional difficulties including anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and have a particular interest in working with those affected by cancer either personally or through supporting others.

I use different ways to help you explore and make sense of what is going on for you such as talking, breathwork, creative experiments or body awareness. Using these tools, we will work together to find out what it is you wish to change and how you can make those changes so that you feel more connected or fulfilled in your life

My practice is in a village near Bicester with free parking available nearby. I work in person or online and offer both short term counselling and more long-term psychotherapy.

I offer a free 20-minute online or phone consultation which provides you with the opportunity to ask any questions you might have before deciding whether I am the right counsellor for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
