British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Is your home life or work being affected? Are you unhappy at work, struggling to find work/life balance, have life issues that are affecting your role within the workplace? Is your relationship or family suffering, are you suffering? How do you manage your time? Is it difficult to talk to people at work about things bothering you? Counselling can help address these issues by exploring ways to help you create an improved way of life. Using a variety of techniques that will equip you with tools and strategies, you will be able to better manage potentially stressful situations.
Issues surrounding pregnancy and infertility? These include planned or unplanned pregnancy, stillbirth, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, antenatal depression, postnatal depression, anxiety about becoming a mother or father, problems with conception, coming to terms with infertility, traumatic birth, decisions regarding termination, emotional and physical difficulties following termination of pregnancy, giving a child up for adoption, losing contact with a child following a relationship break up, or concerns about your partner being affected by any of the above.
Affected by another's addiction? It is often those close to an addict who suffer when the addict exhibits behaviours including physical, emotional and verbal abuse, deception, theft, denial, compulsive behaviours, obsessiveness, withdrawal, depression, low self-esteem and loss of control. This can lead to a huge number of difficult to handle emotions for the person close to and affected by the addict including anger, depression, anxiety, loss and grief.
