About me
I am an experienced Therapist offering a warm and inclusive space. I have experience working with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, and I approach therapy with cultural sensitivity and curiosity. My practice is inclusive of faith, identity, and family values. I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with years of experience working with difficulties such as OCD, depression, low self-esteem, and PTSD, as well as Interpersonal Therapy, where I can help with relationship difficulties that are impacting on your mood. I provide therapy in English and Arabic, and I aim to provide a safe space to help you feel understood.
I have a particular specialism in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, where therapy can sometimes feel unfamiliar or not quite fitting. I aim to bridge that gap by offering therapy that respects your values and lived experience without any assumptions or judgement. I take the time to understand you as a whole person and not your difficulties.
Feeling understood is the first step towards change, and compassion is at the forefront of my work. Our first session will be an opportunity to understand what’s been going on for you and what you’d like to change. I’m happy to offer a brief initial call so you can get a sense of whether I’m the right fit.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold the following qualifications:
- MSc Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Postgraduate diploma in CBT (BABCP accredited)
- IPTUK Certificate of Completion for Practitioner Training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT UK accredited)
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (BSc)
I hold full accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and Interpersonal Therapy UK (IPT UK). I receive regular supervision, and I attend ongoing training, so I can keep developing my practice and support the people I work with in the most helpful and effective way. As well as working as a therapist, I am also a Senior Course Tutor at Anna Freud, where I supervise the UCL Postgraduate Diploma course for Children and Young People's Psychological Therapies.
