About me
I am a fully qualified individual and couple psychotherapist offering face-to-face and online relationship counselling and psychotherapy.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where I aim to help you reach a better understanding of yourself and your relationships while developing a more creative way of relating which allows room for lasting change.
I believe it is important to balance the here-and-now with the conversation with the past; paying attention to old material and repetitions which impact on our present. In this way we can consider the conscious and unconscious processes which are being manifested.
I offer online counselling for individuals and couples who are unable to attend face-to-face sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained and work at the Tavistock Relationships (previously known as Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships), a world renowned institute in the field of relationship therapy. I am currently a Clinical Skills and Training Seminar Leader at Tavistock Relationships.
I completed a PG Dip in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy (TR and UEL). I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I also completed the Infant Observation module of the MA Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy.
I am very experienced in short term solution focused as well as open ended work and have worked with a diverse range of clients including many individuals and couples from the LGBTQ community.
I work with issues including difficulties anxiety, depression, communicating, high conflict, fear of difference, infidelity, grief, loss, infertility, the impact following the birth of a child, sexual difficulties, parenting issues, empty nest syndrome, trauma, identity, sexual identity and fluidity.
I offer a place of holding and containing in a safe and non-judgemental space. I am empathetic but also challenging.
Please feel free to email or telephone me for more details or to arrange a preliminary consultation
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
