About me

Hello, I’m Wendy

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve been carrying things alone. You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. You may be navigating trauma or a difficult life event, or simply wanting a space that is yours somewhere you can pause, breathe and be heard.

Counselling can help you feel less alone, understand yourself more clearly, build emotional resilience, and process difficult experiences safely. You don’t need to know exactly what you’re struggling with before you begin many people start therapy feeling unsure, and that’s completely okay.

Who I help

I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or affected by trauma or long-term stress. Many clients come to therapy during times of transition or crisis, or when life feels too heavy to manage alone. You’re welcome whether you’re seeking support for a specific issue or simply wanting a space to make sense of what’s going on inside you.

How I Work

I offer a warm, calm and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I believe trust is at the heart of the therapeutic relationship, and I understand that feeling comfortable enough to be open and honest can take time. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to, and we can work together in a way that feels manageable for you.

My approach is person-centred, which means we work collaboratively and follow what feels right for you. I integrate trauma-informed practice, grounding techniques, psychoeducation and neurodivergent-affirming principles.

You can talk freely, pause, take time to think or simply sit with what you are feeling. My aim is to provide a confidential and accepting space where you feel heard, valued and able to be yourself.

I work with adults online or by telephone.

About Me

I value honesty, compassion and real human connection. Clients often describe me as calm, warm and easy to talk to. I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel understood and accepted without judgement. My aim is to meet you exactly where you are whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused or ready for change.

Training, qualifications & experience

My trauma training with a specialist sexual violence support organisation in Wales has deepened my understanding of trauma and strengthened my ability to work safely and effectively.

I also gained valuable experience within domestic abuse agencies, where I developed insight into the impact of trauma and long term stress on emotional wellbeing.

I aim to offer a neurodivergent affirming approach that respects different communication styles, sensory needs and ways of processing the world.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
