About me

Relationship Counsellor, Resilience and Leadership Coach, incorporating Mindfulness and Positive Psychology in every bit of life.

Profile
Leadership starts from within, Relationships start with self. I offer a safe, confidential and non judgemental environment in which to explore and discuss personal and professional concerns, recognise and develop your own resilience, open up to possibilities, opportunities and a new way of being, individually or together as a couple. Relationships are hard, especially when you come into difficulty. Together we explore how our relationships are created, look at past experiences, learn how to manage the differences and find ways we can enjoy investing in our relationships. Together we can strengthen your ability to face challenges, create new ways to communicate with others and find a path to move forward. We define new goals, identify possibilities and opportunities in a sensitive and supportive environment

Discussing your most personal worries & concerns with someone who is effectively a stranger to you can be a big barrier preventing you from getting the help you need. For this reason I offer a 30-minute complimentary meeting to help you make that first step. Appointments can be scheduled for mornings, afternoons or some evenings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a certified Relationship Counsellor CPCAB, working with Relate.Org.UK as well as my own private clients. I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society MNCS and a member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, BACP.

I am a professionally trained Co-Active Life Coach PCC, educated with the globally renowned Coaching Training Institute CTI and accredited and a member of the International Coaching Federation ICF.

I have trained in Positive Psychology and am a certified Mindfulness Educator, incorporating all of these skills and tools for an integrative approach.

I have my certification in EMDR Therapy and am a member of the EMDR Association UK.  EMDR therapy helps to move the storage of a disturbing memory from the past to a more functional part of the brain through a gentle bilateral stimulation through eye movement. The bilateral stimulation creates biochemical changes in the brain that enables us to respond to the present without the past interfering.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
