About me
Hello, and welcome to my profile.
If this is your first experience of looking for a counsellor/therapist, you may feel confused or anxious..
- Who should I choose?
- What qualities and qualifications should I look for?
Let me introduce myself to you.
I have worked in the field of counselling and psychotherapy for more than 30 years. In this time I have helped many different people with many different problems.
I would like to invite you for a FREE 30 minute initial consultation.
You may bring concerns with you such as:
- Is seeking counselling a sign of weakness?
- Does it mean I am mentally ill?
- Will I be able to afford it?
- How long will it take?
You will meet me online in a confidential, safe and non-judgemental environment, where we can discuss any concerns or questions you may ha
Over the last 30 years or so, I have worked with many clients referred to me by a local psychiatrist.
Here are some of his observations:
".......I cannot recall anybody who has had a bad word to say about their treatment with Wendy.
On the contrary she is highly thought of by both me and her clients.
She is hard working, flexible in her approach, intelligent, insightful and suitably direct when needed.
Her manner is warm and caring.........."

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Couples counselling
Relationship problems are surprisingly common and can cause huge distress to those who experience them.
Relationships may be between unmarried partners, co-habiting partners, people in civil partnerships or married couples, any of whom can experience difficulties and conflicts in their relationship.
These may be internal, i.e.between the couple, or as a result of external pressures, such as an extended family or an affair.
Unresolved, these difficulties can lead to health problems, relationship breakdowns and divorce.
Despite this, people often find it difficult to talk about such personal issues. This may mean that the problems continue for years or until they kill the relationship. It does not need to be like this.
I have many years of experience in this field. Do come and see me. Don't leave it too late too seek help for your relationship.
Receiving good advice and support early on enables many people to work through their problems and find the solutions.
