About me

Hi if you are looking at this page then it is likely that you are thinking counselling. It  is really important that you find the right counsellor for you someone that can best support you to move towards making the changes that you wish to.

This page is about the counselling service that I will offer to you.

I trained as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist. This means that I am trained in a variety of approaches and I can adapt my practice to what would benefit to you the client.  I have knowledge in Person Centred Counselling, Cognitive behavioural counselling, Psychodynamic counselling and Hypnotherapy.

Question that you might have are;-

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is more in depth and is often long term work and it requires the counsellor to be more knowledgeable in working with complex issues. I am able to offer both counselling and psychotherapy according to what works best for you.

The issues that I can work with you work with are

I work with a wide variety of issues. In our first session I would like to find out about what you wish to work on and together we would decide the best way to work through your issues.

You might decide that you are not ready to work on some of your issues that’s  OK because counselling is about what is right for you and you have the right to choose. I primarily;y work with clients who have experienced stress usually through work or through personal relationship. I also work as a cruse bereavement volunteer for Cruse  .

Training, qualifications & experience

My Qualifications

I am qualified in the Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling AD dip PC and  I am also a qualified hypnotherapist Cert Hyp CS .

I am registered with the National Counselling Society and National Hypnotherapy Society who are the Governing bodies that ensure that I work with ethical framework of the profession.

I have attended short courses in a range of therapeutic topics. it is really important to me that I am best equipped to be meet the needs of my clients  I only work with people who I can really help .

How much does the session cost?

Sessions typically last 50 minutes they are usually weekly abut some people prefer more or less frequent, I can be flexible if this is what is good for you

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I currently work with a fostering agency  supporting foster carers  who are looking after vulnerable young people and children. I have trained in life story work  which I support the foster carers  to help the  children in their care make sense of their life history.

I  also work with adults, primarily women and children  who have experience domestic abuse. I will be able to work with you to be able to  unpack  some of your experience  so that you can build on your positive relationships in  your future.

I also work closely with the Papyrus society young people who are at risk of suicide

Counselling sessions £40 for an initial consultation and £35 per session thereafter

An initial consultation hypnotherapy session cost £ 65  and £55 per session thereafter

Wheelchair user access
