About me
I am Tori, a qualified counsellor and coach specialising in sexual wellbeing, compulsive sexual behaviour, sex and pornography addiction, sexual offending and psychosexual difficulties. I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental and practical therapeutic space for individuals who feel their sexual behaviour has become difficult to control, is causing distress or relationship difficulties, or has resulted in involvement with the criminal justice system. I also work with people experiencing sexual dysfunction, including difficulties with desire, arousal, erectile functioning and pain, and support partners and family members affected by harmful or compulsive sexual behaviours.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I have years' experience as a practising Probation Officer, working with individuals involved in both contact and online sexual offending. I currently work within Crown Court settings completing pre-sentence reports and have an extensive understanding of risk, safeguarding, sentencing, probation processes, Sex Offender Registration, Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and multi-agency risk management. I have also worked for several years with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, delivering interventions and supporting individuals and families affected by harmful sexual behaviour, including people under police investigation and those sentenced for online sexual offences.
My specialist professional development includes Paula Hall's training in sex and pornography addiction, StopSO specialist training and psychosexual therapy training. My approach is integrative and informed by the biopsychosocial model and Paula Hall's Opportunity, Trauma and Attachment (OTA) framework. Therapy may involve understanding the emotional and relational needs underlying compulsive behaviour, processing trauma and attachment difficulties, reducing shame, identifying triggers and patterns, managing urges and developing practical strategies to reduce risk and establish safer use of the internet. Where appropriate, we also work more deeply with identity, intimacy, relationships and the experiences that have contributed to problematic sexual behaviour.
I work with both offending and non-offending presentations, including individuals struggling with escalating pornography or online sexual content, compulsive sexual behaviour and those facing investigation or sentencing. I understand how frightening and destabilising the "knock on the door" and subsequent criminal justice process can be. My aim is to combine therapeutic support with a realistic understanding of risk and the criminal justice system, helping clients make sense of what has happened, take responsibility where appropriate, reduce harmful patterns and move towards a safer, healthier and more fulfilling relationship with themselves, others and their sexuality.
I also provide therapeutic support to partners, parents and other family members, helping them understand what has happened, manage the emotional impact, navigate uncertainty and begin to rebuild stability, boundaries, connection and trust.
