About me

*April 2023 update: My practice is currently full and I am not accepting new clients (I have a few ad-hoc spaces for people I have already worked with). Please message me if you would like to be added to a waiting list*

No issue is unimportant, if it’s troubling you.

If you’re here, I imagine you’re feeling stuck in some way.  Talking about what's happening for you, with someone who is trained, impartial and separate from your life, can help clarify things and get you unstuck.

Counselling doesn’t replace conversations with friends and family; it creates a dedicated space for personal reflection. In my experience, it's also very different to simply think things through alone. In our work, you set the pace and we will jointly explore any changes you’d like to make.

I use a style of therapy called Transactional Analysis, because it has some useful ideas that help to make sense of complicated life experiences. I'm happy to share these with you, or simply talk through what’s happening for you. The choice is yours.

I offer a free 50-minute first session, so you can get a feel for how I work.

I’m happy to answer any questions you might have. Just call, message, or email me. I'm also available on WhatsApp and facebook Messenger.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience includes specialist work in addictions and bereavement, as well as general counselling.

I hold a post-graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute in Ealing. I am also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I’m fully insured, Data Protection Registered (ICO) and criminal-record checked (DBS).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I offer a free 50-minute initial phone or online session, so you can get a feel for how I work.

I’m happy to do both short- and long-term work. Short-term is typically six to 12 sessions. The number of sessions will depend on your needs and goals.

I normally see clients on Thursdays and Fridays. Sessions are usually weekly, in a regular time slot, although I am happy to accommodate occasional variations.
