About me

Hello!

Sometimes in life we are faced with challenges and depending on a variety of factors including physical and mental health, will depend on how we are able to cope with the challenge. Occasionally as we are developing personally and professionally through life we are triggered by an event or situation that induces an emotion, a feeling, a thought that transports us elsewhere, leaving us with questions and curiosities as to the why. I often say to my clients whatever stays with you requires attention.

I have a strong belief that understanding to listen rather than to respond is a key part to a therapeutic relationship, adding great value to the early stages of counselling.

My preferred style of counselling is Person -Centred however, I am a qualified Integrative therapist combining Psychodynamic (past), Person-Centred (present) and CBT (future) skills into my sessions. I am keen to understand and support what is happening for you in the moment. I offer a warm, private and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely and at your own pace.

I have experience working in adult crisis intervention services and supporting young people aged 13–25, with a keen interest in anxiety, trauma and low mood.

I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Alongside my counselling work, I have a strong holistic background as a Meditation teacher and Reiki Master. I believe in a whole-person approach to healing, recognising the deep connection between mind, body, and emotions. Where appropriate, I integrate elements of mindfulness, and energy awareness into sessions, creating a safe space for deeper self-exploration and balance.
