About me

Perhaps life has thrown you a curve ball you're finding difficult to cope with. Maybe change is on the horizon and you're wondering how you will manage and what your new life will look and feel like. As an integrative counsellor, I'm here to listen so you are truly heard and understood. You may need help coming to terms with an upsetting event or support understanding relationships past and present. Perhaps there has been an ending causing feelings of grief, loss and loneliness. Sometimes we can't figure out why we feel the way we do, we just want it to stop. Talking things through with someone empathetic and supportive can help you realise your strengths, provide clarity and reduce feelings of distress.

The therapy I provide aims to help you make sense of past and present experiences, the right path for you now and to achieve change. You may feel stuck by self limiting beliefs. These beliefs are sometimes created by the expectations of others and sometimes from within. Understanding where your beliefs come from and if they are yours to own or helpful to you now, helps create stronger boundaries, reduces people pleasing, increases self-esteem and can lift our mood.

I create a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to support you through challenging times that may feel overwhelming and to increase your confidence to live a life you choose for yourself.

When you are ready to share what's on your mind, I'm here to help. Together we can focus on reducing and managing distress, your strengths, regulating emotions, making sense of relationships past and present and how they may affect you today. We can also explore people pleasing, boundaries and change if desired, working towards the future you envisage. Together we can find a way forward that is right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
