I am a qualified Counsellor working in Milford and Godalming offering a compassionate, confidential and supportive therapeutic service to Adults and Adolescents.
I believe that we have the capacity and potential to live fulfilled lives but sometimes we experience a ‘stuckness’ and difficulty in flourishing individually, or in our relationships. People often come to counselling having felt stuck for longer than they can remember, and perhaps seeking support for the first time. It takes great courage to get to this point. You may come to counselling finding it difficult or even painful to articulate or name the problem. The feeling that something is “just not quite right” is often where we start on our journey together.
How I can help
As your counsellor, I am here to develop trust, offer acceptance, empathically listen without judgment, and help you experience a deeper understanding of your feelings (or absence of them). I help you move towards greater independence and encourage personal responsibility. Through working collaboratively, the counselling process will help relieve your distress as you discover insight and find new ways of looking at your situation.
How I work
I respond to each client in an individual way. I am non-directive and take a holistic view of my clients, encouraging wholeness of experience. Together, we will explore your unique personal struggle in a safe and confidential way. Please take a look at my website for more information.
Verity is one of those people who you seek out in troubled times because she is compassionate, kind, patient and above all, genuine. She is a fantastic listener and has the ability to instantly put you at ease. I would like to thank Verity for her invaluable support during some difficult times in my life. Anonymous client
Verity is a very unique therapist in that she is both an experienced art teacher and a counsellor. She can effectively use both these skills in a creative way to help people figure out who they are and how they feel inside. She is very experienced and makes anyone feel comfortable with her calm personality and gentle nature. I know that anyone who would start to work with her would benefit enormously. Tone Tellefsen Hughes DC, BSC, FRCC (paeds) Director of Luck's Yard Clinic.
Each session that I had with Verity was incredibly powerful and I came away with some profound insights into my situation which helped me to change my perspectives. I cannot recommend her highly enough for her skill, sensitivity, wisdom and compassionate approach. I will definitely seek her services again should I need some counselling support in the future! BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
