About me
My name is Vania Piludu and I work as a chartered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist. I am based at Space To Be You Therapy Rooms in Hackney, London E8.
I provide bespoke therapy for children, young people and adults using person-centred approach tailored to your specific situation and needs. I am also able to draw on my knowledge of psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and mindfulness approaches to help reduce psychological distress and to enhance psychological well-being.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel able to explore your difficulties in depth and where you can begin to increase your self-understanding in order to bring change and possibility.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
My clinical experience began in 1997 and since then I have worked with adults, children and families in various settings including the Italian Mental Health and Social Systems, NHS and the private sector. I have worked with people with a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, health problems, isolation, childhood abuse, trauma, loss and past and present relationship problems. I am able to offer both short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, taking into account the nature of clients' concerns and needs.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

GETTING STARTED
I begin therapy by trying to understand a little about your background and current situation, and what you are hoping to achieve from our sessions together. This helps us to jointly establish what you want to address and how. I will also provide self-report questionnaires to have a better picture of your emotional state.
If you are seeking therapy for your child, on the first session I will meet with you without your child to understand your difficulties. I will ask you about your child’s development and current functioning and explain how we can work together.
You may set up your first appointment and arrange a telephone call by sending me an email with a brief description of your situation together with any other relevant information or questions.
