Tracy Mendis (MBACP)
Feeling sad? Worried? Hurt? Confused? Need to talk to someone you can trust?
I am a professionally trained and qualified counsellor. I offer a safe place where you can be truly heard - not judged or told what to do - and I work in whatever way is best for you and most appropriate to the circumstances that you are dealing with.
Whatever you are facing - you don't have to do it alone.
Finding the right counsellor can often feel rather overwhelming. This is why I offer an initial free session, giving you the opportunity to get a sense of whether I would be the person you would like to work with.
I can offer daytime and evening appointments of one hour. Sessions can be face to face in counselling rooms in Old Town, Swindon, on-line or on the phone.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been involved in the field of counselling and psychology for many years. My originally training was in New Zealand some 25 years ago. More recently, I have also completed a UK qualification (a CPCAB level 4 Diploma). I also have degrees in Psychology and Social Science.
As well as counselling adults, I have also provided counselling for teenagers in a secondary school environment for over 10 years and spent several years volunteering for a telephone helpline that provided counselling for teenagers.
As a result of my own difficult journey with food, weight and body image, I have set up a support group for people with unwanted eating behaviours. I also provide CPD training for counsellors working in this field.
I am a counselling tutor on L2 and L3 courses.
I am registered member with the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
