About me

You’re here for a reason - let’s talk about it

There’s a good chance you’re reading this because something in your life feels difficult right now. Maybe you’ve been hurt. Maybe you feel disconnected from others, or even from yourself. Perhaps you’ve tried to manage things on your own, but it’s starting to feel too much.

That’s often the point at which people reach out for therapy. Not because something is "wrong" with them, but because something no longer feels right.

If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

Understanding patterns, not pathologising people

Many of the patterns we repeat in life, in relationships, in work, in how we treat ourselves, were formed early on, often as ways of coping. They might have helped us once. But now? They may be keeping us stuck.

You might not fully understand why certain things keep happening. You might feel overwhelmed, frustrated or simply exhausted trying to ‘push through’. That’s where therapy comes in.

So, what kind of therapy do I offer?

My approach is Humanistic, which means I work with you, not with a label or diagnosis. I don’t see clients as “problems to be fixed”, but as whole people navigating real life.

I tailor every session to your unique story. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We all have different starting points, strengths, and struggles, so it makes sense that therapy should meet you where you are.

Whether you’re dealing with past trauma, current life stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or simply feel lost, we’ll work together to make sense of what’s going on and find a way forward that feels authentic and sustainable.

What does our work together look like?

Therapy with me is a collaborative process. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening in your life, what’s getting in the way, and how to move towards the changes you want to see.

Sometimes that involves looking at the past, but not always. Some problems are rooted in current life circumstances, and we can work with those directly. The key is understanding what kind of support you need, and building the right approach
around that.

Ultimately, therapy can help you:

  • Feel more grounded and in control
  • Understand yourself with more compassion
  • Make clearer, more confident choices
  • Let go of unhelpful patterns
  • Reconnect with your sense of purpose

Do I need to be “broken” to come to therapy?

Absolutely not.

You don’t need a diagnosis, a crisis, or a dramatic story to come to therapy. Many people arrive feeling ‘stuck’, not quite sure what’s wrong, only that something isn’t working.

Therapy is simply a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most to you. It’s a chance to see yourself with fresh eyes and create meaningful change.

A bit about me

My passion is helping people live more fully, free from the cycles of destructive thoughts, behaviours, or beliefs that can hold them back for years.

Over time, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, each with their own history, their own challenges, their own strengths. What I find most rewarding is seeing clients reconnect with themselves, not just surviving, but thriving.

As Thomas Dreier once said:
“If ever we are to enjoy life, now is the time, not tomorrow or next year... today should always be the most wonderful day.”

That quote has stayed with me. It’s part of what led me to become a counsellor, and part of what keeps me doing this work.

EXPERIENCE

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside individuals, couples, and families through many of life’s most difficult and complex challenges. Whether you're facing something recent or carrying long-standing pain, my role is to walk with you, not in front of you, not behind you, but beside you, as we work together toward healing and growth.

My experience spans a wide range of emotional and psychological issues. I have supported clients navigating the aftermath of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and those living with the weight of substance misuse, compulsive gambling, or the intensity of anger that feels out of control. I have also worked with men who are seeking space to explore men’s mental health issues, often in silence or shame, and offered therapeutic support for those struggling with eating disorders or the rigid grip of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Alongside mental health concerns, I’ve journeyed with people facing terminal illness, long-term disabilities, and bereavement, offering a calm and steady presence during moments that can feel overwhelming. I also have experience supporting clients with age-related concerns, helping individuals find peace, purpose, and dignity later in life.

For many, therapy begins with quieter, more hidden wounds, such as low self-esteem, self-doubt, or feelings of being “stuck.” I’ve worked with clients on building self-confidence, addressing emotional abuse, and making sense of self-harm, offering compassionate support in reconnecting with one’s self-worth. I’ve also worked with people managing work-related stress, burnout, and the emotional complexities of parenting or caring for children.

My past experience also includes working with clients affected by HIV/AIDS and other serious medical conditions, helping them cope not only with the medical implications but with the emotional and relational impact these diagnoses can bring. In moments of crisis, I have stepped in to provide immediate support, offering crisis intervention when life becomes too overwhelming to manage alone.

Whatever you’re going through, whatever you hope to work on, my commitment is to meet you with care, understanding, and honesty. I will listen without judgment and help you move at your own pace toward what healing looks like for you. My goal is always to help you find your own strength, reconnect with your values, and make meaningful changes that bring clarity, peace, and hope.

You don’t have to face this alone.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
