About me
I am a fully qualified Transactional Analysis psychotherapist with many years experience helping people to work through their personal difficulties to experience a happier life and better relationships.
In recent years I have been greatly influenced by the work of the psychologist and philosopher Iain McGilchrist and his work on the divided brain. In his book The Master and his emissary he explains how the two hemispheres of the brain see the world in two completely different ways and how these contradictory ways of viewing reality cause us great problems in our relationships and everyday lives.
I understand how difficult it is to make that first step and ask for help and so I have a great respect for people when they finally make it through my door.
About me
In my early career I worked in various mental health hospitals and was deeply touched by the pain and confusion that many people fought with day in and day out. These experiences created a deep respect with in me for the human spirit.
I went on to work in the community to help people with various disabilities, both physical and psychological, to lead happy and productive lives.
I eventually trained for four years to become a psychotherapist and then set up my own practice which have been doing ever since.
Why Choose me?
Finding the right therapist who you can trust and feel relaxed with is very important. If you contact me we can arrange a short telephone conversation where you can decide if you think I am the right fit for you.
How long will I need to come for?
The number of sessions varies from person to person. Some people may only need a few sessions to resolve a particular issue and others may need a number of years. It is what ever suits your needs. Growing, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually is an endless journey. I feel honoured whenever someone comes along and invites me to walk some of the path on their personal journey.
Feel free to contact me and ask any questions that will help you decide whether you want to book a session with me.
