About me

I offer online counselling for adults and young people who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, or affected by past experiences or relationship difficulties. Many people come to therapy when they’re struggling to cope alone or when something inside tells them they need space to slow down, reflect, and feel heard. If that’s where you are, you’re welcome here.

My Approach

I provide a warm, compassionate, and non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly at your own pace. I work integratively, drawing on CBT, person‑centred therapy, psychodynamic ideas, attachment theory, and systemic approaches. This allows our work to be shaped around your needs, your goals, and what feels important to you.

Who I Work With

I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self‑esteem, stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, and life transitions. You may be dealing with difficult emotions, recurring patterns, the impact of past experiences, or a sense that something in your life needs to change. Whatever you’re carrying, your experiences matter.

What We Can Explore

Together, we can look at how your thoughts, feelings, and past experiences shape your present. We might explore relationship patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build emotional resilience and self‑awareness. My aim is to help you make sense of what you’re going through and support you in moving forward in a way that feels right for you.

Why Online

Online counselling offers flexibility and comfort, allowing you to access support from your own space and fit therapy around your daily life.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Simply taking the first step can open the door to healing, clarity, and meaningful change.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BSc in Psychology and Children’s Development, a University Certificate in Counselling, and an MSc in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from a BACP‑accredited programme. My training has given me a strong grounding in understanding how our early experiences, relationships, and life transitions shape our emotional wellbeing.

I have experience supporting people through:

  • anxiety, low mood, and emotional overwhelm
  • relationship difficulties and break‑ups
  • family and identity challenges
  • bereavement and loss
  • workplace stress and burnout
  • life‑limiting conditions and caring roles

I also have particular interest and experience in perinatal mental health, pregnancy‑related challenges, and the emotional impact of a loved one experiencing dementia.

Across all of my work, I aim to offer thoughtful, evidence‑based support that honours each person’s lived experience. My focus is on helping you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move toward meaningful and lasting emotional growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Client feedback

"Tia not only understood what my stresses were about, but she also helped me come to terms with accepting that they were normal behaviour understandable, and gave me support to move forward and put myself in the equation. She really made me think about things and see things from a different perspective at times. She never seemed to be lost for a supportive word, strategy, or explanation of why I was feeling or behaving a certain way. I finished each session with my own to-do list of pearls of wisdom from her, and so many takeaways to help me. It was an amazing process, and I would thoroughly recommend her support to anyone. Thank you so much, Tia." - PH

“Tia guided me on my way to living with the grief and loss I felt in recent months. Reminding me to take some time and use the techniques to reflect on and remember those I love has been really helpful. I will always carry my loved ones with me and cherish the memories of our time together. Continue to hand out guidance, kindness, and love. Those who know you, I am sure, like me, really appreciate it” - S.T

“I can’t believe the difference counselling has made. I feel so much lighter, more confident, and able to cope with life in ways I couldn’t before. Tia’s support was truly exceptional.” - H.S
