About me
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but you are not alone. My name is Thierry. I offer a gentle, supportive space where you can explore emotions and challenges at your own pace. I understand how important it is to feel safe, truly understood and supported in therapy, so I make sure every session is tailored to your needs.
I have experience in various conditions, including anxiety, loss, grief, anger, and guilt. I also offer counselling for individuals with acquired brain injuries from strokes, accidents, or other causes. My role is to offer my clients unwavering support in a space free from judgment, where you feel empowered to understand your struggles and embrace new areas of growth. Therapy is your journey, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
I currently volunteer for the mental health charity Mind, and previously volunteered for Headway, a charity supporting people with brain injuries.
My Approach - Tailored to You
I believe that therapy should be adapted to the individual, which is why I integrate different approaches to best suit your unique needs. My practice is rooted in pluralistic counselling, meaning I combine techniques from multiple therapeutic models to create a personalised experience for you.
- Humanistic Therapy – This approach is client-centred, meaning you are always in control of the pace and focus of our sessions. It emphasises self-exploration, personal growth, and emotional healing in a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself.
- Psychodynamic Therapy – Sometimes, past experiences shape how we feel and react in the present. This approach helps you explore deep-seated emotions, unconscious patterns, and unresolved issues, giving you a greater understanding of yourself and your relationships.
- Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – If unhelpful thoughts or behaviours are holding you back, CBT can help you identify, challenge, and replace those patterns with healthier alternatives.
In addition to these core approaches, I can support your emotional well-being with breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises, and solution-focused therapies like hypnotherapy, Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping), coaching, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Whether using traditional counselling or tailored therapies, my goal is to ensure each session feels safe, supportive and effective.
