About me

As a Counselling Psychologist, I have been trained in a variety of psychological theories and practices. This training, along with my clinical experience, allows me to be flexible and tailor my approach for each individual client depending on their needs and preferences.

I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship and view therapy as a collaboration between myself and my clients. I strive to create a warm, non-judgemental and safe space, where we can work together to build understanding and find ways to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and accredited with the British Psychological Society. I have also completed post-qualification training in EMDR.

I have over 9 years experience in a variety of settings, including a charity, the NHS, a secondary school and private practice. This has involved working with both adults and young people (aged 11 and over).

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
