About me

Are you feeling lost, stuck in your life, wondering who you are and what to do next?

I help adults who feel lost, stuck,or overwhelmed to find calm, confidence and direction again. Whether you're facing anxiety, addiction, alcohol related issues, trauma, depression or low self-worth, I'll offer understanding and compassion without guilt or shame. Together we'll work towards recovery and healing, helping you rediscover you really are.

Hello, I'm Teresa, a BACP registered counsellor offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space to help you cope better with life's challenges. If you are questioning your relationship with alcohol,  as a "sober counsellor" I will understand how this feels. Are you looking to find abstinence or becoming sober curious?  I will meet you wherever you are in this process.

Reaching out for help can feel difficult especially when life feels overwhelming or you've lost your sense of self (I totally understand this). My approach is grounded in empathy and understanding. I'll walk alongside you as you explore what's going on, find your voice, and start to rebuild your confidence and emotional wellbeing.

By being here you have already taken a courageous and purposeful step, recognising that you may need some professional support. Finding the right counsellor is essential. You deserve to work through your difficulties with someone you can trust or genuinely connect with. To help you decide if I am the right support for you I offer a free, no obligation telephone call (by appointment)  - an opportunity for you to ask any questions, and get a sense of how we will work together. My clients talk of knowing they have made a very important first step and feel reassured following this first connection - the first step where I will meet them, wherever they are at in their life. You are most definitely not alone. Teresa

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

As a person centred counsellor I believe you are the expert on your life. Together we'll focus on your needs and goals at your pace. You'll find me easy to talk to, genuine and accepting - someone who will listen deeply and help you make sense of what's happening.

Our work together is about helping you feel empowered, supported and more in control of your choices and emotions. Whether you're seeking recovery, healing, or simply a place to be truly heard, I'm here to walk that path with you.

The first step is the hardest, but will absolutely meet you where you are right now at that first step.
