About me

Hello and welcome.

I am an experienced and accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist having worked in both organisations and private practice. I work with adults across all age groups, from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.

Working together and at your pace, I offer a confidential, safe space for you to talk about what is troubling you, where you feel heard, and where we can explore your experiences and begin the process of opening up possibilities for lasting change.

I offer a one-to-one, face to face open-ended psychotherapy allowing you to decide the number of sessions that would work for you depending on the depth and complexity of the issues you want to resolve. My practice is in Wandsworth.

My aim is to support you through your difficulties towards greater understanding, freedom, and flexibility in how you approach life's challenges.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my psychotherapy training at WPF Therapy, gaining a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Prior to that, I completed the foundation certificate in counselling skills also at WPF Therapy and I trained in bereavement support with Cruse Bereavement Care.

Although your individual circumstances will be unique to you, I work with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement, loneliness, relationship and family matters, sexuality, identity and esteem issues, self-harm, trauma and difficulties encountered at each stage of life: leaving home, relationships, parenting, birth, family matters, midlife crisis, retiring, old age, death.

Starting therapy can feel daunting. It takes courage. It may feel exposing sharing your private thoughts and feelings with another person. It can also bring relief.

I am a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC) and UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) professional bodies. I work to their professional Codes of Ethics and best practice guidelines.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Additional information

If you would like to start therapy, the first thing to do is call or email me to set up an initial consultation to talk about what you want to get out of the therapy and answer any questions you may have.

It will also give you some idea of what working together will be like. We can then set up a second session if you would like to continue and we can then agree next steps.

My fees average between £60 and £80 and are individually negotiated, depending on ability to pay. I offer some lower cost placements for day time appointments and those on low incomes.

I am a recognised psychotherapist with Aviva, Axa PPP and Vitality Health insurance companies.
