Play Therapist

About me

I offer:

  • child-centred, non-directive, evidence-based play therapy for children
  • collaborative and effective parent sessions to support understanding at home

I have helped many children to overcome anxiety, power struggles, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, life transitions and traumatic events.

Via the child-centred model of Play therapy (CCPT), children direct their own therapeutic process to discover their innate qualities and capacities, and in doing so, overcome the obstacles holding them back from being the best version of themselves. All the positive outcomes are deeply embedded and long-lasting.

In play therapy, the child experiences:

  • Unconditional positive regard
  • Complete acceptance
  • Awareness of own feelings
  • Deep encouragement
  • The return of autonomy
  • Recognition and expansion of self

In the safety of the playroom and within a warm, trusting relationship, children express themselves freely and begin to find new, profound ways forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified with a Diploma in Play Therapy (PTUK), registered therapist (membership no. 201903019), and further specialised through the Play Therapy Professional Programme with Dr Brenna Hicks.

I have a background in teaching and child development, education project founder and parent, bringing deep attunement, creativity, and respect for children’s autonomy to therapeutic work.

I am DBS checked, insured, and registered with the ICO regarding data protection. I have regular supervision.
