About me
A warm welcome to you, my name is Tanita and I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. This means that I believe in providing therapy that is tailored to you, appreciating that everyone is a unique individual, rather than a one size fits all approach.
Integrative therapy recognizes the deep connections between all aspects of a person's life—emotional, physical, and social. It allows for exploration of how past experiences and present challenges can impact overall well-being. This holistic approach to therapy encourages gentle curiosity about experiences that may have shaped your self-perception, relationships, and the way you navigate the world. Through integrative practice, your journey toward improved well-being, mental health, and a higher quality of life is actively supported.
I provide a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate space, tailoring the therapeutic experience to your individual need, at your own pace. I am passionate about supporting people in their self-discovery, as they uncover aspects of their life which they want to accept, change or let go of. It is truly an honour to hold a hopeful space for others and witness them take steps to living the life that reflects their truest self.
Reaching out for support can be daunting and unnerving, I appreciate the courage it takes to make the first step. I understand that beginning your therapeutic journey is not easy, however, I am committed to providing a professional, confidential space, that is also compassionate and supportive as we work through your troubles together.
I work both short term and long term depending on the individual need. I have experience in supporting people with a range of issues, including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low mood, trauma, grief/loss, self-esteem, disordered eating, body image, suicidal ideation, self-harm, neurodivergence, relationships & long-term health conditions.
Training, qualifications & experience
Before becoming an integrative psychotherapist, I felt driven to support others. Having been a client myself, I wanted to dedicate myself to a career where I could make a difference. I have worked and volunteered in a variety of settings, including the NHS. I have volunteered for charities that support bereavement, long term condition services, and mental health services that support adults and young people.
I have an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the University of Derby and have experience of working as a therapist with a variety of clients, in a range of settings.
I work both short term and long term depending on the individual need. I have worked in the NHS, within charities and in further education.
At present, I am able to offer therapy to those 18 years +.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
