About me
You don't need to be alone if there is something you’re going through, or have been through, that feels uncomfortable. It may be overwhelming, confusing, or is making it difficult to move on. I won't judge, or tell you what to do, but will offer you a safe space to express your feelings and be heard.
My approach is person centred, which means that your thoughts, feelings and values are at the centre of everything we do. You are unique, so your experience of the world is unique too. I believe you are the expert on you, even when you don't feel very expert. Together we can find what will help you move forward.
I can offer face-to-face sessions from fully accessible rooms in Kings Hill, West Malling, or online sessions anywhere in the UK.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified therapist and voluntary member of the BACP. I have experience of working with over 18-year-olds in dealing with many issues including anger, anxiety, behavioural & substance addiction, depression, grief, loss and relationships. Outside of my private practice I work in a local counselling agency, and a residential 12 Step rehabilitation unit.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have extensive experience working with both those suffering from behavioural and substance addictions and their families, and often work alongside 12 Step programmes. Addiction to any substance or behaviour can be crippling, - emotionally, physically, financially. It often affects everyone involved with the sufferer, which only adds to the guilt and shame. The hardest part is often reaching out for help. If this is you, please don't be afraid to take the first step.
